NZWTA has been in operation for over 50 years, with our heritage in wool testing. We are the leading and the largest testing house in New Zealand for the sampling, testing and certification of raw wools, with recent expansion into wider textiles and materials testing. As part of the larger AWTA group, NZWTA Wool Testing and Textiles and Materials Testing is part of an international network of aligned companies, offering greater scale and breadth of testing capabilities for our customers.

Global Reach

The NZWTA Textiles and Materials Testing network spans test houses and laboratories in New Zealand, Australia and China. We can test here in New Zealand, or we can facilitate testing in one of our trusted partner labs, with your samples from any region.

Ownership

NZWTA is now wholly owned by the Australian Wool Testing Authority (AWTA), who are in turn industry-owned in Australia. AWTA are the largest testing organisation in the world for raw wool. As a consolidated group, AWTA comprises of 3 operating divisions in Australia (AWTA Raw Wool, AWTA Product Testing and Agrifood Technology), its wholly owned subsidiary NZWTA and its joint venture, JinAo Testing Company (China).

Associated Companies

AWTA Product Testing is an independent material testing, accredited to ISO 17025-2017 and to ISO 9001-2015. AWTA are capable of providing tests to a variety of local and international standards as required by the diverse client base.

AWTA Product Testing NATA Accreditation encompasses the five prime areas of retroreflection, flammability, chemical, thermal and mechanical testing which, when combined, covers 34 secondary areas of testing competence.

AWTA Ltd and the Jiangsu Inspection Corporation (JSIC) operate JinAo, located in Nanjing, China. JinAo is incorporated with the Industrial Product Testing Centre (IPTC) of CIQ Jiangsu. The laboratory provides a base for reputable and independent testing of products and raw materials.
